Add Titles to Slides

Best practice for presentation structure includes the use of unique heading titles for each slide.

PowerPoint for Windows

Microsoft PowerPoint 2010

  1. On the Home ribbon, select Slide Layout.
  2. A drop-down menu will appear.
  3. Select a text layout that includes a title box.

  4. Left-click in the Title box.
  5. Enter a title.

Microsoft PowerPoint 2007

  1. On the home ribbon, select slide layout.
  2. A drop down menu will appear.
  3. Select a text layout that includes a title box.
  4. Left click in the box.
  5. Enter a title.

Microsoft PowerPoint 2003/XP

  1. From the Format menu, select slide layout.
  2. A "Slide Layout" pane will appear on the right-hand side of the screen.
  3. Select a text layout that includes a title box.
  4. Left click in the box.
  5. Enter a title.
