Once simply distributed as hard copy, documents are increasingly being shared as attachments to E-mail messages, posted on Web sites, viewed on a wide variety of devices, and converted to other formats. Although this contributes to the ease and rate at which information can be shared, it also increases the risk that individuals will be denied access to information if the document creation or modification process does not result in accessible documents. Accessible documents benefit all users, including those with disabilities.
