GAAD was launched in 2012 and is held annually to get everyone talking, thinking, and learning about digital access and inclusion, and the more than one billion people with disabilities/impairments.
Members of the University of Minnesota community have hosted annual events to celebrate since at least 2022, and celebrated it in other ways earlier, such as in 2020 and 2021.
