Computer Accommodations Program

Whether you're overwhelmed and stuck, need a quick nudge in the right direction, or are embarking on a complex project with big accessibility implications, a consultation with accessibility experts might be exactly what you need.

Computer Accommodations Program staff can talk by phone, meet with you one-on-one, or talk with your team. To request a consultation:

Technology Advisory Council

If your department is considering a new technology and you'd like help evaluating it for accessibility, usability, information security, integration, and more, the Technology Advisory Council (TAC) can help! Learn more and submit a request at z.umn.edu/getadvice. 

The University officially supports many adaptive technologies (AT), although there are more to consider.

Students, faculty, staff, guests and visitors with disabilities and medical conditions can contact the Computer Accommodations Program for adaptive technology demonstrations, evaluations, assessments, installations, training, and support.

Ergonomic hardware (devices designed and/or arranged to promote healthy, comfortable, and efficient interactions with your technology tools) may be available to you through either the Disability Resource Center on your campus (see above) or the University systemwide Department of Environmental Health and Safety, such as:

• Monitor and keyboard arms
• Ergonomic sit/stand work stations
• Natural keyboards
• Trackballs
