Implementation Guidelines
We propose that the minimum accessibility standards include:
- Resolution of all Pope Tech template region errors on UMN Drupal platform sites within 3 years
- Resolution of most Pope Tech content region errors within 3 years. New errors should originate from new contributors who are learning skills and occasional human error. An acceptable number of these errors and an optimal remediation time frame, such as an average of fewer than one accessibility issue per page, will be determined by the ODA.
- Any University standards that go beyond current World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, such as removing accessibility overlays or tools that mask or deceive automated accessibility tools
To ensure the standards are broadly supported and realistically attainable, they should be reviewed and approved by the:
- ODA
- IT accessibility liaison group
- Drupal Advisory Board
Metric
The standards are drafted, updated based on stakeholder feedback, and published on Accessible U
