Implementation Guidelines

Key audiences include:

  • Leaders at the University of Minnesota
  • Digital accessibility liaisons in each college, unit, and department
  • University of Minnesota System employees who are responsible for maintaining university websites and other digital channels
  • Supervisors who manage employees who maintain University websites and other digital channels
  • Faculty members who need to meet policy requirements on any of their sites excluding those published in Canvas

Communication goals include:

  1. Communicate about the plan so employees and their supervisors are aware of their roles and responsibilities regarding digital accessibility
  2. Communicate resources related to digital accessibility and ensure that it is woven throughout materials at the University
  3. Communicate progress toward achieving the digital accessibility plan
  4. Communicate at least six months in advance of the adoption of new WCAG versions

Key communication channels include:

  • Job descriptions for website editors
  • Central and unit publications
  • Drupal, IT, and academic technology groups across the University system
